Snowboards: trends for the next winter

08/12/2016

Let’s discover all the latest trends for this 2017 winter about snowboards, patterns and trends of the new products presented at the 2016 ISPO.

In the month of December ski facilities open the doors, and this is an appointment anticipated by many lovers of the winter sports, and some people prepare themselves as well as possible buying all the latest products in ski and snowboard.

Snowboard is perhaps the most loved discipline by young people, who always have a close eye to the new products.

There is an unmissable appointment for all the sports’ enthusiasts, it is ISPO, a fair which takes place every year in Germany (more precisely in Munich) dedicated to the sporting items and the presentation of new trends for the next season.

For this reason, thanks to ISPO, we have the opportunity to know all the trends about snowboards, new patterns and models.

The Fish Model: the new product of the 2017 winter.

Among the most important trends of this winter, there is the introduction of the snowboard in the shape of fish.  On the occasion of the 2016 ISPO it was presented in different varieties and it represents, for all the sectorial manufacturers, the leading piece that will be shown in the worldwide ski areas.

This new kind of snowboard was designed for the consumers’ needs, because not only young people do snowboarding, but also men, women and the little ones. For this reason the new design includes also models suitable for women and beginners.

The design project took into account also the fact that snowboarders increasingly do snowboard carving (a technique in which the snowboarder goes downhill performing large curves by tilting the snowboard, almost touching the ground of the track). For this reason, among the models of snowboards, there is the return of the asymmetrical side-cut.

Now let’s see some models presented at the 2016 ISPO.

The Goodboards “Capra” model

This model is suitable for those who do Snowboard Freeriding, because, thanks to the large nose, it has a high stopping capacity. Available in different measures and models, it is ideal for freeriding thanks to the perfect level of lift in powder.

The Yes Snowboards “420 Powder Hull”

This type of board is suitable for those who do freestyle and freeride snowboarding. A bit shorter compared to the previous model (the 420 one), this board slides more easily across the powder and it is more reactive.

The Arbor Collective new board for the 20th anniversary

The company decided to celebrate this important anniversary creating the new model in collaboration with the famous snowboarder Bryan Iguchi. Thanks to his ten-year carrier in the world of snowboarding, the Bryan Iguchi Pro is a real masterpiece for those who practice this sport. Thanks to the tapered tail and a longer nose, it suits each kind of ground, both expert riders and the middle-level ones.

The Jones Snowboards Ultracraft Spit

The Californian company is known above all for the production of light and resistant boards and its latest model was made of carbon. Thanks to the short and straight tail and the tapered nose with the rocker arm, allows the user to ride with agility even in deep snow. Both the nose and the tail are reinforced with steel to protect the board from impacts.
