Without forgetting our wonders, the neighbouring countries offer enchanting scenes to admire in complete relaxation during holidays.

Here are some advice on destinations with the best ski slopes in our continent.

 

Cortina D’Ampezzo, Italy

The queen of Dolomites”, as it is commonly called, is located in Veneto, in the province of Belluno. All the tourists can use the Olympic facilities that have been built over the years. Slopes are mainly located on the Tofane Mountain massif, where you can find the ski slopes of Olimpia delle Tofane. Cortina d’Ampezzo belongs to the Superski Dolomites ski facility, one of the most worldwide important. There are ski runs for downhill and cross country skiing.

 

 Val-d’Isère, France

Since it is collocated along the Isère river, the valley takes its name from it. It belongs to the region of Rodano-Alpi e is part of the ski area of Espace Killy, together with the ski facility Tignes. With its slopes and off-piste tracks, it meets the tastes of everyone and It is very appreciated also for the activities after skiing. It offers more than 300 km of tracks, 2 snow parks, and boasts more than 40 km of off-piste tracks, among these the most important is the Face de la Bellavarde.

 

Igls, Austria

It is a village (belonging to the city of Innsbruck) located in Valle dell’Inn, in the region of Tirolo. Here there is the ski area of Patscherkofel, which offers Olympic tracks and the World Cup track, both a snow park and a fun park. This area is part of the ski area of Olympia Skiworld Innsbruck. For the little ones (and not only) an ice rink is available. It is known for the Olympic toboggan run.

 

Vallée de la Tarentaise, France 

In this valley, located in the region of Rodano-Alpi, there is one of the most famous ski facilities in Europe, Val Thorens. This ski facility belongs to the area of Les Trois Valléès and is located in the city of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. Here you can find the longest toboggan run in France, the icy driving circuit and also a snow park. For the lovers of off-piste skiing, a downhill on Orelle Valley is recommended.

 

Kitzbühel, Austria

Questa città è il capoluogo del Tirolo e la sua stazione sciistica è specializzata nello sci alpino su pista o fuori pista, ma non solo, c’è anche una vasta offerta per coloro che amano lo sci di fondo, con più di 60 km di piste. La pista più amata è quella di Streif, dedicata alla discesa libera. Per gli snowboarder, e per tutti gli sciatori new school, è anche presente uno snowpark. A Kitzbühel, ogni anno, si svolge anche la Hahnenkamm, l’evento sciistico più importante al mondo.

 

Alta Badia, Italy 

This area comprises the districts of Corvara in Badia, Badia and La Valle and is located in the Alto Adige Dolomites. This valley is located between the ski track of Sellaronda and Grande Guerra. There are around 30 km of ski slopes, among these the most important is Gran Risa, which has become famous thanks to the Alpine skiing World Cup. Nassfeld, Austria

It is a ski resort located in the Austrian part of Passo di Pramollo and boasts more than 110 km of ski slopes. It is included in the rank of the 10 most beautiful ski areas in the entire Austria, thanks to its variety of ski runs, among which the most pleasant is Carnia. Also here there is a snow park and, in addition, there are different areas for those who practise off-piste skiing.

 

Kandersteg, Switzerland 

Located in Canton Berna, known by many for excursions, it is also the ideal place for those who want to practise Alpine skiing, above all for beginners. At the foot of the ski area there are also groomed slopes for cross country skiing. It suits also the lovers of snowboard thanks to its snow park.

 

Courchevel, France 

Also this ski resort is located in Vallée de la Tarentaise and is one of the most important ski areas in Europe. Thanks to its 600 km of ski runs, it is the biggest ski area in the world and is part of Les Trois Vallées. Around 90 km of ski slopes are dedicated to the cross country skiing, and around 800 ski instructors work here. The most loved ski slopes is Grand Couloir.

 

Chamonix – Mont – Blanc, Francia

This small town is located in the region of Alvernia-Rodano-Alpi. It is on the foot of Monte Bianco, where people can do skiing on the longest off-piste slope in Europe (around 12 km), Valléw Blanche. It represents the point of reference for the world of Alpine skiing. There are some ski facilities for beginners such as Les Planards.
