RUN AND CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT WITH PLOGGING!

12/10/2022

Aimed at all sports lovers who care about their health and that of the planet, plogging is a sport that originated in Sweden and has been intriguing and exciting athletes of all kinds in recent years. The idea is both simple and effective: ploggers pick up any litter they come across on the street while jogging or doing other outdoor activities.

It’s the perfect sport for anyone who wants to make their training eco-friendly! Combining running with collecting litter can be very satisfying, as well as an extremely useful and beneficial thing to do for the environment.

The benefits are many and varied:

  • Working out becomes even more effective. Combining periods of running with stopping to pick up waste, you can take advantage by adding some squats and bends that will make your jogging session more intense and complete.
  • It relieves stress and raises self-esteem. If doing outdoor activities already greatly helps reduce anxiety and stress, knowing that you’re helping the environment can only increase this feeling of well-being.
  • It raises awareness of sorted recycling. At the end of the run it’s important to correctly dispose of everything you’ve collected, so that plogging helps you become more aware of recycling in your area.
  • It makes the world a cleaner place! Collecting litter from the streets prevents it from getting into waterways where it is more difficult and complicated to recover. Plogging also helps to remove all kinds of waste and refuse from the streets, immediately making the environment cleaner and more pleasant to live in, benefiting the whole community.
