CMP Trail 2019 and Dryarn®: record numbers for the fourth edition of the competition

25/10/2019

2,500 participants, 94 km of trails in total and 20 nations represented. These are the figures for the 2019 CMP Trail, which confirms its high-prestige status among international running events in a natural setting.

Breathtaking landscapes and trails immersed deep within the autumnal colours of nature once again graced the competition, held on 5th and 6th October at Bassano del Grappa.

Kicking off the CMP-labelled long weekend were 600 youngsters who took part in the Youth Trail, this year split into two separate distances: the 7 km competitive, reserved for children attending secondary schools, which saw 140 young athletes compete along the Bassano hills for one of 40 individual scholarships offered as prizes; and the new 4 km non-competitive, which attracted the participation of 500 youngsters representing schools and sports clubs who competed for 10 prizes offered by local companies.

A fourth season packed with victories: the men’s CMP Long Trail saw the victory, among nearly 400 participants, of German runner Reichert Florian with a record time of 3:39:50.

Silvia Rampazzo from Venice, who had already won the previous three editions, was again the winner in this year’s women’s event recording an amazing time of 4 hours 19 minutes. There were record numbers also in the short distance event, with over 800 people taking part in the “competitive” and “non-competitive” categories of the CMP Short Trail. The race distance of 18 km saw Eddj Nani cross the finish line first in a time of 1:20:30. While success in the woman’s competition went to Lucia Forte of Padua, who finished the race in 1:42:38.

The 100 children taking part in the Mini Trail, finally, lit up the vineyards of Villa Angarano wearing their orange race bibs.

The record numbers for the 2019 CMP Trail were also complemented by the success of this year’s new initiative: “2 Passi di Gusto” (the Food and Wine Walk). More than 600 participants tackled a 10 km food and wine tasting trail divided into 3 stages, each of which had a refreshment stop organised by local farms and wineries where the participants could enjoy the beauty of the hilly landscape around Bassano.

Once again this year, Dryarn® – always in support of sport and nature lovers –  was one of the main sponsors of the CMP Trail, an event that’s already set to amaze everyone in its next edition.
