South Garda Bike Dryarn®, pure fun!

Colline Moreniche at Lake Garda were invaded by fat tyres on Sunday 10 March.

Dryarn® South Garda Bike celebrated its thirteenth edition and, thanks to approximately 1,000 starters, proved even more of a key race on the national calendar!

With its 30 km and 60 km routes the race is suitable for all mountain bike lovers. It starts at Medole and immediately heads north, reaching the Colline Moreniche after 5 km. This is where most of the race is played out, with some sections over wide dirt roads and others along paths. The route is distinguished by a series of fast-flowing climbs and descents, with hardly a chance to catch your breath.

To give you an idea of the rapidity of the course and the quality of the participants, just consider the average speed of the first arrivals: 30 km/h, an insane speed for the mountain bike category!

The men’s winner was Francesco Failli, notching up an amazing 4 consecutive victories. He was followed in second place by Francesco Casagrande, a big star of road cycling. Both riders race for the Cicli Taddei team. As proof of this team’s dominance, two of its riders also finished winner and runner up in the women’s race, with Elena Gaddoni and Silvia Scipioni coming in first and second respectively.
