Regarded as one of the greatest extreme running specialists, Marco Olmo is an athlete who pushes beyond the limits of physique and age with exceptional results, having won the Mont Blanc Ultra Trail in 2007 – at the age of 58 – to follow up on his victory of 2006.
Since 2008 Marco Olmo has been a testimonial for Dryarn®, the microfibre designed specifically for sportswear that still runs with him and accompanies him in his exploits. From the Marathon des Sables to the Desert Cup; from six victories in the Cro-Magnon to four gold medals in the Desert Marathon in Libya…
In 2025 Dryarn® is again running together with Marco Olmo, accompanying him in 5 competitions in Italy and the Sahara desert.
The first appointment was on 23 February with the “VI Trail Del Crocefisso”, Taurisano (LE). On 23 March it will be the turn of the Ecotrail Revolution in the beautiful setting of Lake Montedoglio, province of Arezzo, and on 30 March Marco Olmo will run the Trail dei Malandrini in Prato (FI). On 27 September the Skyrace Lunigiana (between Liguria and Tuscany) will be the prelude to the multi-stage 100km del Sahara event, scheduled from 5 to 12 October.
A year full of competitions and excitement that, as always, will see Dryarn® and Marco Olmo side by side. But the 17 years of collaboration between the ultra-marathoner and the brand have been about more than just races. Marco Olmo and Dryarn® have also featured in a book, Correre è un po’ come volare (Running is a Bit Like Flying – Franco Faggiani Editore, 2009), in a film-documentary Il corridore – The Runner (2010), and in the mini-series La fibra di Marco (Marco’s Fibre), made by Dryarn® and published exclusively on the brand’s YouTube channel.
