HERE ARE 6 SIMPLE TIPS TO KEEP YOUR WATER BOTTLE CLEAN AND SANITIZED

Sport too is becoming greener. Outdoor activities are officially the least polluting of all, and a philosophy that favours a low environmental impact is becoming increasingly common among athletes. Fewer and fewer plastic bottles of water and supplements are being used during physical activities, now almost entirely replaced by reusable water bottles.

These trusted allies of athletes must always be carefully sanitized after each use, however, to prevent them becoming a receptacle for germs and bacteria.

 

Here are 6 simple tips to keep your water bottle clean and sanitized:   

1. Wash it at least once a day, or at least after each training session.

 

2. Use warm water and soap for daily washing and disinfect the bottle at least once a week with vinegar or baking soda.

 

3. A very useful alternative to hand washing is to put it in the dishwasher at high temperature.

 

4. If the bottle has a high neck it’s best to use a brush, to make sure you reach everywhere.

 

5. For more thorough cleanliness you can also wash with the type of effervescent tablets usually used for cleaning dentures or dental appliances.

 

6. After each wash, and before refilling it or storing it away closed and empty, make sure that the bottle is completely dry and does not contain water residues.
